Description

On the plains of a forest in the North American countryside, a docile and curious autonomous colossal armored being from another world, gently lifts a boy in his right hand. Together they create strong bonds of union, partnership and learning, where the boy teaches the mechanic heroic values and concepts of life and death of humanity. On a themed diorama base, featuring the film’s logo on the front, surrounded by the canopy of large trees with the orange leaves of autumn next to sturdy pines, Iron Studios proudly presents its “Iron Giant & Hogarth Hughes – The Iron Giant” statue – Demi Art Scale 1/20″, with the giant robot and his young friend protagonists of a classic story, which has become a cult classic of science fiction and fantasy.

In the 1950s, during a period of tension and ideological and geopolitical conflicts in the so-called Cold War, a boy named Hogarth Hughes investigates the fall of an object from space near the city of Rockwell. Hogarth encounters a giant alien robot and befriends it, hiding it in a junkyard. The incident attracts Kent Mansley, a paranoid government agent, who is suspicious of Hogarth and stays in a room in his house, rented by his mother, the widow of a military pilot and waitress in a restaurant. Eventually, the metallic giant is discovered and gains the sympathy of the townspeople, but when attacked by an army contingent, its defensive system is activated, transforming it into a war machine. With their weapons proving ineffective against the robot, the military decides to use a nuclear missile. Hogarth manages to calm the Giant and clears up the situation, but a panicked Mansley impulsively orders the missile launched towards Rockwell. To save the city, the Giant says goodbye to Hogarth and flies to intercept the missile.

Based on the 1968 novel The Iron Man by English author Ted Hughes (published in the US as The Iron Giant), widely considered a classic of modern animation and one of the greatest animated films ever made, The Iron Giant ) produced by Warner Bros. in 1999, it was nominated for several awards, winning nine Annie Awards from 15 nominations. In 2008, the American Film Institute named The Iron Giant to its list of the Top 10 Animated Films. Revealed during CCXP 2022, and showcased in detail at the first Inside Iron Studios Day of 2023 on YouTube, it’s up for pre-order now. Check out other previously revealed Iron Studios statues that are also available for pre-order this month, and soon more unreleased news on the Iron Studios YouTube channel and social media.
